Olds College – Equine Studies Program

Openings Available for 2017 Winter Program

We still have openings for our winter program which starts in early February of 2017.
The course starts at Olds College for 8 weeks and the last 4 weeks are in Edmonton at Northlands Park.
What “subsidized” means is that Horse Racing Alberta pays for most of the training for you! The point is to have qualified professional employees come into the racing industry in Alberta. This program is also an accredited program so you are eligible for student loans. Horse Racing Alberta also has 6 – $2000.00 scholarships available for you to apply for at:

Equine Studies Scholarship Program

That would pay for your tuition and some of your other expenses!
The job is seasonal or year round – your choice. The Thoroughbred trainers are at Northlands park until the end of October. If you are willing to travel, you also have the opportunity to go to the southern US in the winter.
If you have more questions don’t hesitate to ask. You also can come down to Northlands park if you choose, and meet me to have a look at what the business is all about!
