One Response to “HBPA Alberta – Trainers – Promotional T-Shirts”

  1. CENTURY MILE rumoured to be decoupling racing from casino operations has finally come with the Alberta HBPA doing the heavy lifting on promoting racing activities, while casino operator reaps revenue from slots / live gaming tables.

HBPA late minute post of a new track announcer that is a Century Mile hire is another example of a dysfunctional governance model. HRA CEO boasts of increased handle while a thoroughbred drop of $5 million from 43 million to 38 million occurred last year per an article in Canadian Thoroughbred Magazine.

Hopefully some concerned racing participants will muster up the courage at meeting to ask about this decoupling and the costs incurred by Alberta HBPA, such as expense of social media rep. Free meal won’t muster up a large crowd, perhaps some media such as Terry Jones could be approached, since their has little media exposure and zero press about thoroughbred mile racing.

Professionalism in the barn t-shirts is a positive step. Some literature on the new jockeys for the fans would be appreciated, you all can read a condition book.

Royalty has left the building as the sport of kings is losing its on-track crowds!
