Bloodhorse – Jim Mulvihill – Mano Dura Faces Full Field of 12 in Canadian Derby
The Province – Randy Goulding – Sunbird a ‘happy horse’ after big B.C. Cup win at Hastings
Nick and Pauline’s aptly named Spaghetti Mouse won the 2005 BC Derby, but Nick and Pauline have never won the Canadian Derby.
Pepino’s now occupies Nick’s old space.
Phil’s heard good things about Tasty Bistro in Vancouver.
Terry Jordan has never won the Canadian Derby, but we all remember True Metropolitan winning a few Stakes at Stampede Park and Northlands Park.
Spaghetti Mouse didn’t cross the Rockies for the 2005 Canadian Derby, but Peter Redekop’s Alabama Rain did and won the 2005 Canadian Derby for Lance Giesbrecht with Pedro Alvarado in the irons.

Henry S. Witt, Jr.’s Mano Dura, trained by Jerry Gourneau and ridden by Antonio Whitehall the winner of the 75th Manitoba Derby has the only shot at being the first winner of the newly created Western Canadian Triple Crown.
Mano Dura is a bit of a throwback as he already has 4 wins, 5 seconds and a third in 14 lifetime starts.
Waiting in the wings is Adam Ference and Bill Dory’s Chase the Chaos (Astern {Aus}) who has been steadily working at Century Mile for the 94th running of the Canadian Derby.
