Paulick Report – Letter To The Editor: ‘Ludicrous’ Not To Change Triple Crown Schedule

Phil has a comment:

The Kentucky Derby is locked in on the first Saturday in May. Since it’s NYRA that is recalcitrant about shifting the date of the Belmont which would also require moving many other Stakes around why not move the Preakness. Pimlico is rebuilding while Laurel Park fades into the sunset so right now is the ideal time to move the Preakness to the first Saturday in July – 4 weeks after the Belmont. Start a new tradition at the new Pimlico.
