Sports Business Journal – Kraken hire Sportsology for audit of hockey operations

Phil has a question:

When will Katz wake up and hire a firm for an external audit of the tire fire that is the present Edmonton Oilers management team.

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

SportsNet – Maple Leafs fire head coach Craig Berube

We see an Oilers management team that has botched both July 1’s since taking over for the duo of Ken Holland and Bob Nicholson, now botching its first coach firing as well. It does not inspire confidence that these are the hands capable of performing the delicate surgery required to close out the Connor McDavid era with a Stanley Cup, when firing a coach is the dicing potatoes phase of preparing the gourmet recipe that is a championship-winning roster.

SportsNet – Mark Spector – Spector: Everyone looks bad as Oilers, Golden Knights haggle over Cassidy

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.

Thomas Sowell

Phil has a question:

When Sportsnet’s Oilers scribe disses the management team of Stan (Not Scotty) Bowman and Jeff (not Joe) Jackson why have they not been fired yet.

How does a team find the right level of intensity when they don’t have the right level of talent.

How can Spector find fault with Las Vegas when they’re just taking this opportunity to rub the Oilers’ haughty noses in it.

If the Oilers hire the recently fired Craig Berube can he get the players deals on meat from Calahoo Meats.

Would Clark Kent ever even think about hiring a firm for an external audit of the ridiculous bureaucratic regime at Horse Racing Alberta or are they content when the windows have been washed.
