Phil has been advised that:
HBPA was paid its portion of all Fixed odds revenues for 2022 and will be paid out for all race days moving forward.
EUREKA 30 MILLION EXPORT HANDLE WINDFALL FOR HRA DISCOVERED???
HRA CFO GREGG in a email indicated that the 2021 handle a yr later is being readjusted to 111 million due to a increase of export handle from betting outside Alberta on live racing may 3/2023. Quote “There has been a dramatic increase in export handle from covid 2019 on Alberta live racing”.
CFO GREGG in a email April 15/2023 ,indicated “that the handle has underperformed since covid 2019,was a budget error on CFO/my part”.
CFO GREGG in May 3/2023 commented “once you see the 2022 annual report get approved by the minister, (probably Oct 2023 by ceci/ndp??) a appropriate disclosure will be provided by HRA.
HBPA annual General meeting, hopefully someone will ask per CFO quote,” HRA derives no revenue from increased export handle, but it represents tremendous economic benefit to Alberta racing”. ???
HRA receives no money from OUR live product since it flows to Century for the fixed odds agreement with BETMAKERS from Feb 2022!!
CENTURY first qtr shows a 5% drop in slots revenue from the Downs due to increased competition from Ace Casino 8 miles away. Troubling!
