Secret Gesture drifts out and slowly but surely pushes Stephanie’s Kitten to the outside. As they come down the lane Phil is still in good shape with Secret Gesture and Stephanie’s Kitten first and second so he’s alive even with a dq. But Secret Gesture has to make one further drift a couple of metres before the wire causing Stephanie’s Kitten to abruptly check and permitting Watsdachances to get her nose into second coming through the opening created when Secret Gesture drifted. As the Inquiry lights flash above and below Watsdachances Phil know that the chances are pretty damn good that he’s going to be tearing up his ticket. Naturally the stewards do the right thing and DQ Secret Gesture placing her third behind the horse she interfered with Stephanie’s Kitten and elevate Watsdachances to first. Sal says that Sal thinks Phil is more PO’d at getting beat by a horse named Watsdachances than he is at getting DQ’d and missing the Pick 4 when The Pizza Man delivered in the Arlington.
