Paulick Report – TwinSpires Misses ‘Geolocation’ Deadline, Loses California Signal To In-State Customers

Sal says that CHRB looks after their tracks and horsemen ensuring that they receive the percentages they should without the middle man take when the bet is made at the track.

Sal says that the use of account betting on-track not only hurts the tracks and horsemen when the middle men take their cuts, it also hurts tracks and horsemen when the money is not in the bettors pocket when they win. If the winnings remain in the ADW account what are the chances of the bettor buying their buds a jug of craft beer, or having a meal at the track restaurant (providing your not at Northlands Park where your food lickings are mighty slim) or most important stopping for a flutter at the slots.

National Post – Quan – ‘Indecent proposal’: Brazilian model claims Edmonton Oilers owner offered ‘millions of dollars’ for sex

Point:

Sal says if Silver, Manfred or Goodell was commish of the NHL there would be a big “For Sale” sign hanging outside Rogers Place in Edmonton during the playoffs.

Counterpoint:

Convenient timing to file this lawsuit just days before the Edmonton Oilers make their way back into the NHL playoffs after a decade of drought.

Among the more curious aspects of America’s foremost horse race is that even some of its most accomplished participants have a hard time picking the right horse. Mike Smith chose Talking Man over Thunder Gulch in 1995. Two years later, Chris McCarron abandoned Silver Charm before the Santa Anita Derby for a horse called Hello.

Both times, Gary Stevens stepped into the breach and wound up in the winner’s circle at Churchill Downs. If you were to rank racing luck, Stevens’ Derby windfall would rank close behind the fabled coin flip that enabled Penny Chenery to own Secretariat.

One Response to “Sal’s Countdown to the 2017 Kentucky Derby – Quattro”

  1. HRA BUSINESS PLAN HAS CEO RESPONDING ABOUT BEING PRUDENT ABOUT PURSES????

TENILE responded within 2 hours of mucka’s email about being prudent about future purse grants when the same figure $12,318,147 for 2017/2018/2019 when their revenue totals are different. This shows a total lack of respect for the horseman and I have urged the president of the HBPA to engage in a email campaign / BROWN to voice their displeasure at the lack of a transparent accountable and keeping the industry involved.

HRA has continued to place this report in a 3 field entry of scrolling to about/document/2017-2019 business plan when it should have posted as CURRENT NEWS!!! Reviewing it by avoiding the first 36 pages of a BS and finding flat projected revenue on pg 36,thankfully Sal provided a quick link to the 50 people who care!

The projected handle of $180 million in 2016 in their 2105-2017 business was only $120 million as predicted by Mucka weeks ago, close only counts in hand grenades, sex and horse shoes, nice try Tenile close but no Clinton’s cigar.

HBPA general meeting with CENTURY reps should give the horse industry a more realistic outlook on future purse projections, and the current $100 per stall environmental fee for ASHA at the downs should be eliminated, as the profit margins shrink for racing participants and casino operator profits soar!!!

HBPA ad for partime executive director/again for a april 15 deadline, has a slim field leading the organization in the next 10 year racino contractor/ gamma ray singh rumoured short list with some wild cards are Theresa preacher, Kane(undertaker’s real brother), Darren Fish, Phil Stockman, Frank Fontana and Norval Honey.

HRA RULE 256c amendment to withhold stake race purses for 15 days is ridiculous , from the previous 72 hours for all horse races, has the cash crunch also hit the HRA. Racing rules apply for all contested horse races such as testing/infractions/appeals , something not right in this picture!!!

HRA to continue to apply LIFO accounting practices (last in, first out), since they have no cash reserves like NP, this practice also applies to Tenile/CEO with a LIFO contract tenure!!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
