Shifting Gears

At the same time, it’s hard to blame Johnson when he’s turned himself into one of Hollywood’s most lucrative actors: the increasingly rare breed of movie star who can sell a project just by slapping his name on the poster. But given the commercial heights to which Johnson has already soared, you can’t help but wonder what his career would look like if he took some genuine risks, or expanded his repertoire like fellow wrestling alums John Cena and Dave Bautista. Black Adam might not mark that turning point, but here’s hoping that, one day, we’ll smell the Rock cooking up some films that don’t play it safe.

One Response to “Ace Casino Airport Opening November 25, 2022 and Sundre Other News”

  1. Beware the Ides of March
HRA’s use of bar charts and polishing Tenile’s rose coloured glasses to forecast future revenues continues to create a false picture for horse racing.

SM2 new casino on the doorstep of Century Downs will create a estimated 20% drop in Balzac racino revenue starting in the winter 2022. Downs HRA contribution 14 mil in 2021 from 12.7 in 2020 as the major breadwinner as the mile HRA contribution is only 9 million in 2021 and 7.9 mil in 2020.

Past history had century belvedere opening in 2006 on the doorstep of Northlands with a new gaming facility with live tables created a drastic effect on hra racino revenues. Northlands HRA contribution 2006/24.8 mil to 2007/21 mil to 2008/20.5 mil to 2009/19.1 mil to 2010/18.5 mil a dramatic 6.3 mil drop within 5yrs of over 20%.

HRA additional revenue stream from % parimutuels shows 86 mil in 2020 to 81 mil in 2021 to a projected budget 105 million in 2022!! JOKE

POSITIVE news is the HRA board expenses have not be posted since March 2020, they must be working only for sweat equity??

Track 2 slots opening soon with AGLC appeal stating lowest 10% in VLT with comparable facilities, at least 200k in fiber optics savings, the 80 slots will be a drop in the bucket for revenues compared to the Downs anticipated bleeding. Lasix won’t cure the woes for the projected revenue decline.

TENILE famous words in the Alberta Hansard of racino revenue is earned not given, will be put to a stern test in 2023 without recession, gas prices, disposable income and political factors being factored in.
