If John Stewart wants everyone to get a medal he should head over to Tim Horton’s Tom Thumb hockey or the jiggies. The thoroughbred purse structure is designed to reward the winner, not to subsidize the losers. Thoroughbred racing does not need the Jack Beelbys who only won by accident and had 15 seconds and 10 thirds for every win.
