The home bred son of Schramsberg out of the Allen’s Prospect mare Prospective Miss kept his record perfect at 2 for 2. Regal Max contested the pace but was no match for the winner. Shimshine stalked the pace and appeared poised to close but flattened out down the lane.

Don Danard and Brad Auger’s Suzette recovered from a bad break, contested and took over the lead easily winning the Freedom of the City Stakes at Century Downs on Saturday, October 28, 2017 covering the 7 furlongs in 1:24.84 with Rico Walcott in the irons for conditioner Greg Tracy. The Kentucky bred daughter of Overanalyze out of the Sharp Humor mare Anna Bird Rulez won her second stake in a row improving her record for 2017 to 3 wins from 4 races. Pure Rose was gaining late but never threatened the winner. Dreaming Ez contested the early pace before fading and holding on for third place money.
Handle for the 11 race card on a blustery fall day was a respectable $264,198 aided by a bridge jumper show bet of about $50,000 on Suzette.
DRF – Goulding – Suzette brushes off stumble, wins Freedom of the City
On Saturday, October 28, 2017 over $250.00 to win was wagered early on the 4 horse in the second race at Northlands Park. The horse immediately became the favourite and remained so until just seconds before post time when that wager was removed and the eventual winner 5 became the favourite.
Sal says that both Northlands Park management and the judges sitting on the arses are asleep at the wheel. Allowing odds manipulation of this sort hurts the betting fans and in the long run hurts the handle and the sport.

Many found Gurriel’s antics as juvenile and insulting as they were sadly familiar.
“It just felt like, ‘Man, again?’ Like, we’re so used to this,” Jason Chu, a Chinese American rapper based in Los Angeles. “People don’t even pause. They think that this is acceptable, socially, to target Asian Americans in this way, or Asians in general.”
Chu said trash talk is a routine part of competition, but Gurriel’s behavior was offensive because it mocked Darvish for being Asian.

1 WITCH. Thrice the brinded cat hath mew’d.
2 WITCH. Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin’d.
3 WITCH. Harpier cries:—’tis time! ’tis time!
1 WITCH. Round about the caldron go;
In the poison’d entrails throw.—
Toad, that under cold stone,
Days and nights has thirty-one;
Swelter’d venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i’ the charmed pot!
ALL. Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
2 WITCH. Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting,
Lizard’s leg, and owlet’s wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
ALL. Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
3 WITCH. Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf;
Witches’ mummy; maw and gulf
Of the ravin’d salt-sea shark;
Root of hemlock digg’d i the dark;
Liver of blaspheming Jew;
Gall of goat, and slips of yew
Sliver’d in the moon’s eclipse;
Nose of Turk, and Tartar’s lips;
Finger of birth-strangled babe
Ditch-deliver’d by a drab,—
Make the gruel thick and slab:
Add thereto a tiger’s chaudron,
For the ingrediants of our caldron.
ALL. Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
2 WITCH. Cool it with a baboon’s blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.
