Sal’s sorely disappointed. Rico Walcott wins the first 2 races at Northlands Park that damn Diamonds song that most all the other jockeys are sick and tired of hearing comes on and it’s still a recording. Couldn’t Rico find a new tune on the Lemonade 2016 album. Beyonce was just one LRT station away gearing up at Commonwealth Stadium so she could have easily made the jaunt over and never missed a bar of her show. What an intro for Rico’s new tune.
With temperatures hovering around 5°C and chilling Sal says that whatever winter clothing was still on the shelves in the stores in Edmonton went flying off. Sal says that the booties were shaking from the cold and misty drizzle.
Incredible is an understatement. There’s something about an outdoor show in less-than-ideal conditions that brings you closer to everyone in the stadium, makes you feel truly alive and all-mighty, like you can defeat anything in your way — from a ridiculous long lineup for the LRT to even a cheating lover.
The latter is the thrust of Bey’s latest album, Lemonade, and its songs provide the sweetest moments during her Formation World Tour. She opened Friday’s show, of course, with Formation, advancing slowly onto the stage with her dancers, all nodding their bolero-clad heads in time with the the songs’ sproingy beats.

Mike Tarp’s homebred Go Maggie Go contested the pace right from the gate and then pulled away down the lane for her second graded stakes win in the $250,000 GII Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico Race Course Friday May 20, 2016.

Romans said that Tarp, an owner who has been with him for 15 years, “is one of the best guys in Thoroughbred racing.”
“He’s had a little bout with illness,” Romans said. “I’m sure this will help him feel better.”

Euthanized at age 16 in December 2011, Indian Charlie’s stud career was cut relatively short. But, if Uncle Mo’s phenomenal first crop is any indication, this rich vein of California gold will be passed on for some time to come.
Baffert added: “If Mike Pegram didn’t buy [In Excess], then we would have never bred [Soviet Sojourn] to him. Fate.”
